In our experience, the private launch helps to gain traction for the public launch by establishing social proof for the campaign.
People rarely want to be the first person to buy a product, especially without having read reviews first, and the same principle applies to making an investment. By seeing that others have invested, those who are less familiar with your brand will feel more comfortable making their own investment.
Outreach & Promotions
Prior to your campaign launching publicly into Investment Opportunities on FrontFundr, it will go into an invite-only private link launch. This is where your shareholders, customers, followers, fans, friends and family have the exclusive opportunity to invest before anyone else. You will have a unique URL that you can send to all of these groups so they can support your campaign from the start.
- Working Through Your Investor List: During the private launch, you are reaching out to your network. We recommend starting with your list of investors from your network. Pick up the phone, send out a text, write some direct messages on LinkedIn, or send a personal email to those contacts who are close to you and/or the company. A company’s existing network can often be the strongest supporters throughout the raise.
- Sharing With VIP Supporters: Once you’ve reached out to your list of personal contacts, start reaching out to some VIP customers or supporters with an inclusive invite to invest before the general public. We recommend segmenting your email list and doing targeted outreach at this stage. As you work towards your 20% and 20 investors, you can also promote the raise on your website and social media - just keep in mind that investors will not be able to find you on the general FrontFundr website so all your promotions should have a direct link to the campaign page.
Strategy & Timing
We suggest planning to have reached your 20% and 20 investors within 2-4 weeks, giving you at least 8 weeks for your public promotions. As an objective, you should aim to secure 10% of your target within the first day. You should reach out to your warmest leads first as they are likely to convert quickly. Once you have that initial momentum, you can start reaching out to those leads who may need to see a bit of social proof before making their decision.
The 20% to move from the private launch to your public launch will be calculated from your target offering. The target offering is what displays on the campaign tracker to communicate your goal for the raise to investors. If you have a target of $250,000, the minimum allowable target on FrontFundr, you will be required to have raised $50,000 from 20 investors to move to a public campaign.
When you have secured 20% in total investments, along with 20 investors, the FrontFundr team will move your page from private link to a public campaign in our Investment Opportunities. Nothing on the page will change other than you are now visible on our main website and you will unlock promotions from FrontFundr. Your dedicated campaign URL will stay the same throughout the entirety of your campaign.
Your private link campaign is an excellent way to build momentum for your capital raise and to test the campaign messaging with those who know you and the company best.
